Direction: Out New Abbey Road, Return Old Military
Distance: 72 Miles.
The coast road is a nice slightly undulating road, pretty smooth, no tough climbs and fantastic scenery. Obviously with it being a coastal road expect more wind. Around the Sandyhills area the road narrows quite substantially so be wary here of crazy motorists. In normal traffic conditions this road in my opinion is pretty hazardous, for this reason I like to head out before 8am when traffic is sparse. After Kirkcudbright you start to get some proper climbs in returning on the undulating 'Old Military Road' to sap the remaining energy from your legs.

As the full 4 hour journey is a little long for Youtube. Here's a slightly shortened 15 mins.
